By the time this column sees the light of your day, it'll be almost January, which means it's time to announce the Third Annual Dartmouth Class of 1967 Midwinter Squash Tournament and Mini-Reunion, to be held in Boston. The event is scheduled for January 11, 1986, at the Boston Racquet Club. Actually, the squash is nothing more than the pretext for a get-together, and all '67s - squashers, racqueteers, pretenders, and those who simply remember how to party with their classmates are urged to attend. Coordinator of the tournament is JohnManaras. To get a spot on the competition ladder and/or the gallery, get in touch with John at 99 Colbourne Crescent, Erookline, MA 02146, or call him at the office: 617/276-7605.
John passed me the above information by phone a few days after Hurricane Gloria (remember Gloria, you Easterners?) had made her way up the coast, attended in most cases by more bluster from the media than from Mother Nature. It seems some trees were downed in the Boston area, including one which fell in SteveCheheyl's swimming pool, affording the opportunity for a little chain saw work.
Wally Bowman dropped me a line in October. He's moved from South Bend to Evansville, Ind., where he's principal at Mater Dei High School, a private Catholic secondary school with 595 students, including his daughter, Monica, a senior, and his son, Brian, a sophomore.
Congratulations to Peter Dunlop and his bride since early September, the former Roxanne Marie Jarvis. Peter and Roxanne were married in New Bedford,
Mass. According to the news clip I received from the College, they were planning to settle in Williamstown, N.J., after a honeymoon in England and Scotland.
A week or so ago, I received from JeffZimmerman a sheaf of those little notes some of you send in with your class dues. Unfortunately, I left them at home (we just moved and, frankly, I dqn't know where they are), I'm two days past deadline already, so this is all you get for now.
Come to the mini-reunion in January.
