Once again I write this column with no up-to-date news from any of the class or the widows. However, out of the boxes of "stuff" that came out of my dad's cellar, which I am still going through, I uncovered the Dartmouth 1914 Class Book. How many of you still have yours? Under a heading of "Remember When," I will go back 71 years with the following, which may bring back some memories. Entrance enrollment was 401; graduation enrollment was 253. Members came from 23 states and two foreign countries. Average age at graduation, 22 years, 8 months, 12 -days; average height, 5 feet, 9¾ inches; average weight, 157 lbs.
Sixteen members were Phi Beta Kappa, and Carroll Edson is the only one left of that group. Commencement exercises were carried over a period of five days! Interesting to see how things have changed over the years.
I hope to hear from you soon, and do not forget to do your part for the Alumni Fund.
