Greetings from Atlanta! I have been out of town a lot this winter, so I am relying on your green cards and dues notices for news. So here goes...

John Hallberg, M.D., (would Mrs. Halliburton believe it?) reports that he is halfway through his orthopedics residency at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. John recently married Amy Jones, also from Mystic, Conn., and the two of them are now living in Manhattan. John is looking forward to moving out of Manhattan in a few years. Thomas Grzebien's father reports that Tom is girdling the earth on a Fulbright scholarship in Belgium, where he is working on his dissertation and research for a Ph.D. from Notre Dame. Thomas Fox is off to Pakistan, also on a Fulbright. Thomas wants to locate Derek Lawson before he heads off. Derek, where are you?

Barbara Kelley reports she is finishing up her pediatrics residency in Washington, D.C., where she has spent countless nights in the emergency room slaving alongside star "orthopod" Jim Vailas. Barb will be moving to the Big Apple in July to begin a neonatology fellowship at Columbia Presbyterian. She would love to hear from anyone who has an apartment to rent or sublet, or else she'll be eating rice and beans to afford the rent.

Thomas Swartwood is still living and lawyering in New York City. He recently bumped into John Evans, who is a lawyer with Prudential-Bache. Walter Malquist is now living in Alexandria, Va., where he has been director of winter sports for Special Olympics, Inc., for the last 18 months. He assists state and local Special Olympics organizations in developing winter sports programs (skiing, skating, polo hockey, and floor hockey) for the mentally impaired. The Special Olympics covers 50 states and 60 countries. Walter has been amazed and inspired by the spirit of Special Olympics, and he would be glad to tell other classmates how they can get involved.

Jim Ancona decided to write from Littleton, N.H., before the postage rates went up. He reports the birth of a son, Thomas, on October 23. Jim is working as a computer programmer and his wife, Anne, is working part time as coordinator of a well-child clinic. TomSchram also reports the birth of a son, Cody Paul. Tom and his wife, Cindy, are both teachers in Kaycee, Wyo., a small community at the foot of the Big Horn Mountains.

Glen Swartout writes from Latham, N.Y., that he and his brothers have recently purchased 30 acres of woodland in the Taconic Mountains. They now have several miles of X-C ski trails and plan more for next year. Brook Milligan is now living in West Lafayette, Ind. Nancy Mayer is now living in Cambridge, Mass., and working as an architect for Sasaki Associates. Bert Johnson reports that he is working for Price Waterhouse's Pension and Employee Benefit Consulting Group in Washington, D.C. Bert and wife Judy have bought a house in Falls Church, Va.

Miguel Damien, M.D., writes that he is working hard at learning ob/gyn in Boston. He notes that the Beth Israel hospital has acquired a reputation for high-tech deliveries, judging from a recent Boston Globe article. Fred Se'igson reports that he is finishing a six-month stint in trauma surgery at San Francisco General and plans to return to Boston to continue training. Fred bumped into Jeff Crowe, Tom Alexander, Jeff McKee '77, Rob Bagby '77, and Bob Crowe 'BO out west.

Paula McLeod reports that she married Jamie Pfaff '77 on August 25. Everyone present had a great time, including CharlieDenison, Lissa Howell, Frances Hellman, and a bunch of folks from other classes. Paula is now working on the Procter and Gamble account at Leo Burnett. David Lloyd writes that he married Judy Agusti in October. She is a journalist with the Associated Press. David continues to work at Manufacturers Hanover in New York as the desk officer for French-speaking Africa.

Well, that's the news! Keep those cards and letters coming!
