We have regretfully received word of the death of Mary Lyons, widow of "Tiger" Lyons.

Word has just been received of the death of Marshall "Mosh" Mosher on August 26. He had been a summer resident of Kennebunkport, Maine, and a winter resident of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Just before he died he reported that he still puts in cameo appearances in the Kimball Union classroom from which he retired in 1970, and that he hears from Justin Bugbee from time to time. Pete Haffenreffer's letter to all of us was a masterpiece of nostalgic writing, but he left out a few things, like: electric blankets, air conditioning, power mowers, snow throwers, golf carts, etc.

Carl Bridenbaugh, retired Brown University history professor, was the victim of a serious accident, resulting in several broken bones, which put him in the hospital for some time, after which he was recovering in a nursing home. HalStevens has unfortunately joined the ranks of the Alzheimer's sufferers. GamRogers replied to Whitey's reunion letter that health problems would probably keep them from attempting to get to Hanover.

Bob Palmer says he and Barbara find a motive to get about each year with grandchildren living in England, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. He still gets to the office about every day for a couple of hours and plays golf about five times a week in the afternoon. Except for a few of the usual aches and pains to be expected at our age, he and Barbara are both well and thoroughly enjoying life. As this was being written, they were about to leave for England.

Lang Moffett writes in nostalgic tone of his memories of all-night bridge games, bootleg booze, and dashes across campus, with galoshes clinking (do "flappers" still exist?), trying to make chapel before the last bell. He claims to have been a lousy student and slept through most of his classes. However, he mentions the fact that he had a job in the twenties interviewing celebrities for the Paris Herald. Tell us more, Lang.

Dutch Schroedel is still busy doing a job as class agent for Thayer School classes prior to the class of 1930 in raising money for the Thayer Dean's Fund. His group broke all records last year.

Thought for the month: Maturity begins with the turning of the volume control knob to the left.
