Some of you out there are doing it right.

From Jim Mayfield: "Still living in Hawaii. In the past couple of years, I traveled the world, got an M.8.A., and, after my money ran out, went back to work for the Bank of Hawaii. I began my branch management work on Oahu (Waikiki), now I live on Maui, and soon I expect to be transferred to Kauai or the Big Island. It's a tough life, but someone has to live it."

Things aren't so bad in Palm Bay, Fla., either, where Jack Maney is hanging out. He writes: "Recently promoted to associate principal engineer at Harris Government Systems. Busy canoeing, kayaking, snorkeling, and trying to start a local branch of the Sierra Club."

What about the real world? Stacy Tighe has finished a five-year stint in San Diego as the navigation manager for an offshore seismic marine survey firm. She is headed for Wickford, R.I., to embark on a Ph.D. program in applied marine geology at the U.R.I. Graduate School of Oceanography. Stacey has a guest room in her new house, and the welcome mat is out.

Another exile from the far west is VinPellegrini. Vin just completed "an unanticipated year of education in the politics of academic medicine at Stanford University" and is relocating to the University of Rochester in New York to join the department of orthopedics. Lisa and Vin have a daughter, Lisa, age four, and one on the way.

Andy Rayburn has sent in another garbled message about some recent golf outing. Let's try to keep our entries serious now, Mr. Rayburn. Andy did, however, write that he would be most interested in a report from B. Taylor or F. B. Pinderhughes. Since it is reunion time, why not reach out. Ma Bell's earnings could use the boost.

Gary Zebrowski is in Oklahoma City, Okla., running Xi-Phoid Industries, Inc., one of two companies he owns with two other folks. The other firm is the newly acquired Gibson Music Company of Nashville, a well-known manufacturer of guitars.

In Romeo, Mich., Calvin Taylor has been named vice president of sales and marketing for Romeo Rim, Inc., a manufacturer of energy-absorbing bumpers for trucks, vans, and mass transit vehicles. Calvin has been with the firm since 1981. Prior to that he was with Firestone Industrial Products and Xerox Learning Systems.

Pete Rose is also on the upward spiral. He was recently promoted to senior manager in the audit department of the Boston office of Peat Marwick, an international accounting firm. Pete joined the Boston office in 1980. He lives with his wife, Dorothy, in Tewksbury.

Not to be outspiralled, Scott Cooper became a partner last May in the Boston office of Hinkley, Allen, Tobin and Silverstein, a Providence-based law firm. Scott specializes in real estate financial transactions.

After almost 10 years of silence, Richard Stillman has written from New York City. Richard is an actor, musician, and song-and-dance man in the city as well as in regional theaters. Recent shows include Canterbury Tales on Broadway and Man ofla Mancha at Theater by the Sea in New Hampshire. He also plays the banjo, mandolin, bagpipes, ukulele, and guitar in three bands: a Dixieland band, an oldtime string band, and an Irish string band. Somehow he found time three years ago to marry Susan Cox, who now works as a nurse at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Richard admits to having been a bit out of touch and would be glad to hear from classmates in the NYC area.

Only a couple of months (time moves very quickly in medical school) to go before we descend upon the Hanover Plain to commiserate over the passing of middle age. Don't worry about reservations; we will have hundreds of sleeping bags and air mattresses and a huge tent on the Green. The kids will love it. Now, that is how I would organize it. Guess who didn't make the cut for the committee.

Speaking of reunions, the class is having a warm-up mini-reunion Harvard weekend, Saturday, October 18. CzarPresident Rich Bane actually phoned to pass on the details. The tent will be in front of the gym, and the classes of '76 and '78 will be embroiled in the affair. Also there is a reunion meeting that morning at 10:00 a.m. in the third floor lounge of the Blunt Alumni Center. Go and voice your opinion. A minimum of two heavy metal bands for the weekend is a must. Remember, June 19-21:
