I have a confession to make, which can wait no longer. All of these months I have been attempting to convince you all that I have been going it alone, with little outside help. Well, the truth is that Os Skinner '28 has come through again with a clipping from the New York Times regarding one of our classmates, and I feel that I should at least go on record as officially thanking Os from the class of '75.

In any event, the article in question relates the news that Kyle Hallsteen wed David Mcßobie in September. Since graduation Kyle has attended Harvard Business School, worked at Goldman, Sachs, and will become United States project manager for Investment Canada in Ottawa. Her husband is a partner in Sankey Partnership Architects and graduated from Lower Canada College and McGill. Judging from the article's contents, I can only assume that the happy newlyweds will be living in Ottawa. Best wishes!

I actually received a couple of other notes this month in addition to the usual care package from Os Skinner. The first is from Pamela Brewer Smyth, who announces that she and her husband, Jim, have had their first child. Sara Elisabeth was born on July 23, and by now maybe they are all sleeping through the night. Pam has returned to E.F. Hutton, where she is a vice president in government bond sales. Her major lament was that August was spent in Brooklyn yeah, but at least there is a lot to see.

Pam was kind enough to send word of Terry Yienger Israel, who may be the first of our class to "retire." Terry spent 10 years with IBM and has decided to move on to the greener pastures of home to be with her two sons, Danny and Jeff. Her husband, Michael, is president of Keystone Health Resources in Pittsburgh.

A fellow classmate has also made news in one of the many towns in which I have resided during the past decade. ScottCleary has been admitted to the partnership of Arthur Andersen and Company as a participating principal in the Hartford, Conn., office. We will all have to quiz him as to exactly what this means; however, my guess is that he has reached the big time and will now be required to work for a living. For those of you who don't remember, Scott received just a few honors at Dartmouth and Tuck and has actually been working fairly diligently since then. Scott and his wife, Jo, live in Glastonbury with their two children, Chad and Jodie.

The final note is from the far northlands of the Minnesota outback, where Wendy and A 1 Markman spent at least some part of the early winter indoors. (Winter begins shortly after Labor Day.) I am pleased to announce that the result was the birth of David Alan Markman on July 16. The note came complete with a picture of the little shaver, which in any other case I would be happy to share with you, but the little guy is better looking than Al, and he'd probably never forgive me. Truly, Wendy did a marvelous job.

The July 12 wedding of David Balderston '76 and Kristen Angrist Balderston, Tuck '84, was attendedby a large contingent of Dartmouth and Tuck people.Pictured here are, standing, left to right, RebelRice T'84, Ernest Parizeau '79, T'84, Bob Lambert '53, T'54, Joie Hyde '76, Fred Wall '76, the bride,Frank Hutchins '45, T'48, the groom, William Balderston 111 '50, Nancy King T'77, Ray King '50,and Jim Balderston '51, T'52; kneeling, left to right, Arthur Howe 111 '76, Sean Gorman '76, JohannaBergmans T'84, Jennie Martzloff T'84, and Kim Collins Parizeau T'84.
