Now comes Wade W. Herring II (hereinafter "Secretary") and files this, his column, as follows:

That on or about April 19 Stephen L.Brooks, a.k.a. "Brooksie" (hereinafter "Groom"), was joined in marriage to a woman formerly known as Cathy Labresh;

That said Groom did gather together on or about the night of April 17 with numerous alleged friends, many of whom claim to be graduates of that certain college in Hanover, N.H., known as Dartmouth College (hereinafter "College");

That said Secretary ventured north of the Mason-Dixon line to attend the aforementioned gathering of friends and to attend the above-referenced wedding;

That said April 17 gathering included, but was not limited to, Steve Rutan and Bob Burnham;

That said gathering also included A 1Noyes, about whom it is difficult to write without being censored by the class notes editor;

That also in attendance was Scott Bechler, formerly of California but presently of New York City, whose toenails fall off after he skies and who is married to the beautiful and statuesque Susan Bechler;

That John Streeten had arranged for said Groom to engage only in the most intellectual of pursuits;

That said pursuits included a discussion of geography wherein it was determined that the tall corn grows in Iowa;

That said pursuits further included a film on espionage in the United States and a modern dance performance;

That at the conclusion of said gathering said Groom stated that he felt like he had survived a terrorist attack;

That after said Secretary had .fallen into a sound sleep, unknown members of said gathering did with indelible magic marker draw a work of modern art on said Secretary's feet to match the artwork already drawn on said Groom's back;

That said Secretary is grateful that most of his friends are now married because such gatherings as the one described herein are truly intellectually and culturally exhausting;

That at said Groom's nuptial mass many friends from said College attended, many of whom had previously attended the above-described gathering;

That these included, but were not limited to, Stu Sarnoff, now a busy New York City lawyer whose wife, Gwen, is a Broadway dancer;

That also in attendance were Parkerand Katie (Currier) Small;

That when said Secretary telephoned said Smalls, their answering machine played a familiar tune that said Secretary only later identified as "It's a Small World After All;"

That said experience did reinforce said Secretary's already dim view of answering machines;

That also attending the aforementioned wedding was Catrina Cash Corey, who is married to one Brian Corey, an alleged good friend of said Groom;

That Chris Bensley flew in from California, where he is reported to be in business school at UCLA;

That Steve Risberg 8l came from Orford, N.H., where he is a teacher;

That other graduates of said College were more than likely in attendance, but said Secretary has difficulty in remembering who they were because his mind was still so overwhelmed by the intellectual and cultural gathering of the prior Thursday night.

Wherefore, said Secretary is glad to have attended and to have an event to report firsthand;

That said Secretary wishes he could attend more events including, but not limited to, the June 21 wedding of MikeMcClintock to Cynthia Ann Crowley;

That said Secretary congratulates Grantand Anne (Daigneault) MacEwan on the birth of their first child;

That said Secretary, however, does not regret that he was not personally at that event;

That said Secretary and his wife, Susan, have recently purchased their first house, and you should make note of their new address;

That said Secretary requests all of you to send him news, or he will use this column to write his memoirs, Alma MaterDearest;

That, said Secretary hopes that all of you take care; Said Secretary does forever pray.
