The third time is the charm, I guess. From reports which have reached this desk, the Third Annual Dartmouth Class of 1967 Midwinter Squash Tournament and Mini-Reunion was just about the main event on the Boston area social scene in January. The big winner this time around was Tom Pyles, one of the founders and initial promoters of the event. Winner of the consolation round was Joe Simeone, competing for the first time. In addition to the "usual crowd" (John Manaras,Tom Pyles, Steve Cheheyl, Bill Bogardus, and possibly others), there were a number of new and welcome faces on the scene, including John Wynne, DougSmith, and Jeff Pond. Now that the event is firmly rooted in class tradition, watch this space for early notice of next year's event, and see if you can't make space for it on your calendar.
