This is being prepared on March 10 for the May issue. With thoughts of spring and birdsong, I look out my study window at a pile of snow halfway up my view. I have just returned from Colorado, having skied with Fritz Meyer '33 and with Andrew Titcomb '36, brother of JackTitcomb.

Whip Walser reports more 55th reunion plans, including reservations at the Spalding Inn in Whitefield, N.H., for a post-reunion gathering. He also has asked Pauline Modarelli and Marjorie Walker to serve on his reunion committee.

Speaking of Whip: In a letter to Carl Rugen, the '33 class secretary, Whip recalled his work and fun while working at "Ma" Smiley's eating club. After one incident he was fired; he was later asked to return, but "Ma" Smiley told Whip that she expected him to come begging to her back door after college, as there was not much hope that he would succeed!

Marv Chandler reports that: "I play golf badly, fish fairly successfully, and am taping sort of an autobiography for our grandchildren."

Mary Warner (Mrs. Leon Warner), as president of Action 81, Inc., recently was asked to testify before the Committee on the Use of Laboratory Animals in Biomedical and Behavioral Research at the National Academy of Sciences Auditorium in Washington, D.C. For some years, Mary has led the fight against the kidnapping of pet dogs for sale to laboratories.

Davis Kirby is mentioned in the Tryon (N.C.) Daily Bulletin: "Dave Kirby is a 15- year resident of Tryon and has been active in community affairs. He is the founder of FENCE (Foothills Equestrian Nature Center)." He recently showed his photos of the Colorado River float trip, along with coordinated commentary.

Carol Andreuzzi '86, whom our class has sponsored as an intern with the office of Career and Employment Services, wrote me a very fine letter outlining her activities in that position- Her enthusiasm for and her dedication to the many facets of that office more than justify our class's endowment. I am forwarding the letter to Bob Ackerberg for inclusion in the newsletter.

Now, a few more cards. John Zimmerman: "I cannot recall a "mini" where so many participants have mixed so well and have had so much fun." Bill Lieson: "Our daughter and family have moved to Boston from Detroit - both are academics - glad to have them and grandsons closer." Pat McPhail: "Simply Stellar!" Bob Reinhardt: "My lovely second wife, Helene, completed her year as president of the New Jersey Gold Star Mothers. We look forward to our 55th reunion."

Finally, there is still time to show HarryRowe that you support his dedicated efforts as our class agent by sending in or adding to your Alumni Fund gift. A few wives, having independent means, have matched their husband's gifts. This is much appreciated. Are there any other wives who would like to join this club?

Ben Ezra.
