The big news of 1987 for '29 may be the naming of Andres Hall for our Bill Andres. It may be the passing of our great HarryBaehr. For each of us it may be the loss of any one of us. Art Nighswander has picked up the challenge of writing our newsletter. He's still practicing law in Laconia, N.H. Let's help by giving him our news and our memories.
Fran and I had to miss our mini-reunion. We cherish each name on the postcard we were sent and the letters from some who missed the card. Charlie Dudley kept us informed both before and after of his masterful managing of the affair. Art will report.
There's little time to repay our friends for all our blessings, but it's good to try. I had the honor of bringing Ort Hicks '2l to speak at our Cape Cod Dartmouth Club in September. He earned a standing ovation and was never better. Let's follow his example and not lie back and fade away.
Ed Carpenter speaks for most of us with, "I am one of those who have difficulty in following some recent policies at Dartmouth, but realize what was good in our time may not be adequate today." He and Fran hope to see Nat Barrows again this winter in Florida and report that Nat shot a six-over-par last March.
Another good item: Dan Luten married Marion Sherk on June 30 in Leander, Wyo., and lives at 1097 Creston Road in Berkeley, Calif.
Hanover's town Republican committee recognized Bob Monahan on his 80th birthday for his service in the New Hampshire House of Representatives and then in its Senate where he was majority leader. He is still dean and elder statesman of the committee.
Thank Art for his newsletters. Send him your Green cards.
With modest ability and verbal facility I may get your nod to a fact, But I'd greatly prefer to be able to stir You so deeply I'd get you to act.
