Written in mid-February, these April notes are a brief prelude to the first day of our 65th Reunion, June 12, 13, 14, in Hanover.

You may have already received room reservation forms for the nights of June 12 and 13. Most returning Twoters will stay in a student dormitory known as The Lodge, formerly an adjunct of the Hanover Inn. Conveniently located, it is on the right side of Lebanon Street as one goes from Main Street toward Memorial Stadium. Parking space for cars is generally available at the dormitory or nearby.

The Lodge is a coed dorm and our rooms, each with a private bath, will be assigned indiscriminately. If you prefer a ground-floor room, 18 are available. Students consider it a comfortable dorm. Admittedly, The Lodge or any other College dormitory does not compete with the renowned superb shebangs where you have enjoyed satin sheets, warmed towels, and individual toasties for cold tootsies. Ah, yes, you have stayed at more posh diggings, but never with better company.

Together with other amenities for this very special 65th Reunion, the College will provide a '22 car and a student driver for any reasonably desired transportation. With advance notification, arrangements can be made to pick up or to leave classmates at Lebanon Airport or White RiverBus Station.

Rather than socializing in a tent, '22 will assemble in Room 116, the McFate Suite, at the Hanover Inn. It is pleasant and convenient; take the elevator from the lobby to the second floor.

After you have left your luggage at The Lodge, please come to Room 116 at the Inn, where our '22 registration will be open from 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 12.

If you have not recently seen your Dartmouth, a Campus and Hanover Bus Tour is mandatory. These tours take off at 11:00 a.m., 1:00 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 12. If you are resistant to favorable impressions, stay away from these tours.

On Friday evening, June 12, at 5:30, the Twoter clan will gather for our 1922 reception, with cash bar, in the Drake Room on the first floor of Hopkins Center, practically across the street from The Lodge.

At 8:00 that evening, President and Mrs. McLaughlin will be at home on Webster Avenue to receive the graduating class of 1987, their parents, and alumni/ae.

And at 9:15 p.m., the Dartmouth Glee Club will sound off in Spaulding Auditorium at Hopkins Center. Even if it's a bit beyond one's bedtime and the tickets are free, you cannot afford to miss it.

And this will be only the first day of your reunion.

Charles Daghlian, standing, shows Dartmouth Medical School's new electron microscope to donorJulius Rippel '23 of the Fannie E. Rippel Foundation. The microscope provides a "quantum leap" inthe Medical School's capabilities, according to facility director Daghlian.
