Greetings from the Southland. As we bid adieu to the spring training contingents from the Orioles and Yanks (and as alcohol consumption drops dramatically), we turn once again to those tantalizing tidbits from our classmates, otherwise known as "Search for Last Weekend."

Diana Weiner sent a nice note from Farmington, Conn., where she and husband Ethan Weiner recently bought a house. Ethan is an M.D. (like moi) who completed a rheumatology fellowship at the University of Connecticut in July before being named to a post as an assistant professor of medicine. Ethan, Diana, and their four-year-old daughter, Debra, are enjoying putting down roots in Connecticut.

Elsewhere on the professional front, Paul Cane has become a partner in the Los Angeles law firm of Paul (no relation), Hastings, Janafsky & Walker. Paul specializes in labor and employment law, representing management. In contrast, I specialize in unemployment law, and I usually represent mismanagement.

On the offspring front, Dennis "Downtown McCann" and wife Linda had a daughter, Molly Catherine, in August. The McCanns have set up shop in Winslow, Maine. Dennis has opened a pulmonary medicine practice at Mid-Maine Medical Center in Waterville.

The grapevine also has it that NancyKepes and Peter Jeton welcomed Eric Dray into their family just before Thanks giving. They reside in Andover, Mass., where Nance was a wheel in the Urban Planning Department. Pierre B.L. toils at Bank O'Boston covering such hot spots as Painted Post, N.Y. Apparently Peter does get an exotic assignment occasionally; he just returned from Rio and has checked into the Home for the Terminally Aroused.
