Encore, encore

For the second year in a row, the Barbary Coast Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Don Glasgo, was recognized as one of the outstanding college jazz bands in the nation. Based on an audition tape, the Coast was invited by down beat magazine to participate in the first annual Musicfest U.S.A., a national competition held in Chicago. Last year the Coast received a bronze award at the down beat International Class competition held at Expo 86 in Vancouver.
