As the class enters its 20th year, many milestones have been reached; the Alumni Fund informed the class this past week that we surpassed our goal and at $125,004, set a College record for a 19th year class.
Another milestone was reached as Allan and Ann Meyer's son David enters the class of '91. David graduated with honors from Brookline High last year and spent the past year studying French at the University of Grenoble. Allan continues studying health policy as a sociologist at the Boston University School of Public Health. Recent research areas are the deterrent effect of educational versus punitive responses to drunk driving in Maine, and quantification of maloccurance versus the incidence of malpractice suits at Boston hospitals. Ann is assistant director of the real estate branch of Mass Port, the non-profit organization controlling the airport, seaport, and bridges around the Boston area.

Mark Waterhouse, in addition to doing a great job as Alumni Fund head agent, enjoys tracking down '6Bs. He met PaulSchweizer at last September's meeting of the Northeastern Industrial Developers Association in Syracuse. Paul works at the family firm, Schweizer Aircraft of Elmira, N.Y., the premier U.S. manufacturer of glider planes. Paul was one of the featured speakers at the Developers meeting.
Mark met Jack and Chris Lynch at a Christmas party in Hartford and learned that they are living in Hartford, where Jack practices as an emergency trauma specialist at the Hartford Hospital, flying on the Lifestar helicopter.
Also at Hartford Hospital, John Meehan has been named hospital president, tying the record for the youngest president in the hospital's 133-year history. John was recruited to Hartford from my hospital in Bennington, where he was vice president, by John Springer '53. The future of Hartford Hospital looks bright, as Springer has consolidated Hartford with other area hospitals as the Connecticut Health System and remains C.E.O. for the combined corporation.
