Final results of the Alumni Fund campaign are in. As was indicated in last month's report, EdFlanders has staged a great performance. Ed needled us for a total of $146,169.42, exceeding last year's catch by $61,569.50, which is not hay. This was 114 percent of our objective and the best performance of all the reuning classes. It was made possible by contributions from 216 classmates, widows, and friends. This gave us 128 percent participation, 23 class members made leadership gifts of $ 1,000 or more for a total of $56,870. Ed said he wanted to make sure that the 33 class agents who assisted him share in the credits. Certainly they helped, but we all know who supplied the prod. The class as a whole responded admirably, and we can all be justly proud.

Ed also sent us a clipping from the BostonGlobe concerning the town of New Boston and its leading citizen, Homer Dodge. Evidently, New Boston has eluded developers sufficiently to retain its small-town flavor. In fact, the Dodge's general store still stands in the center of town where Homer's grandfather established it in 1872. Homer, his son Joshua, and grandson still run it.

In the calm following the splendid storm of our 60th Reunion there was a dearth of class news so some telephoning seemed in order. Starting at the top, a call was placed to Curly Prosser. He said he couldn't believe it, but the temperature on his back porch in Canaan, N.H., was 98°. Next, Larry Martin revealed that it was unusually warm in New London, N.H. Then MuttJennings disclosed that it was hot in Massachusetts. This was confirmed by a call to Jack Kenerson in Wellesley Hills. Fran answered the phone because Jack was out checking the weather. She said not only was it hot but it had been that way forever. Who said no news is good news?

We regret to have to report the deaths of Jim McConnon and Dick Lee. Their obituaries should appear in this or a forthcoming issue.
