We classmates have not been completely inactive in the recent past. We have only been almost com- pletely inactive, or else a lot of you are not keeping me fully informed. For instance, when I called JackZellers to find out if he could give me any news, he said he hadn't any. But when I asked him why I couldn't get him on the phone earlier he said he had been on Sanibel Island, Fla., for a month. That, my friends, is news. All the way from Connecticut to Florida and back is an adventure at our age.
Another one who hasn't answered his phone recently is the peripatetic Jerry Sass. EdFlanders tells me it is because he has been in Maui, Hawaii. Sounds more pleasant than California and its weather problems in recent months. So at least some of our pals are ambulatory.
George Davis's voice sounded cheerful on the phone, but apparendy his handlers won't let him near his cherished motorcycle.
Last month I reported the death of our oldest classmate, Harry Fields. Ed Flanders sent flowers to Harry's memorial service in the name of the class.
I regret to report the death of Jack McAvoy on February 21.
