Greetings. An article in the Lawrence EagleTribune headlined John Elias, who was the featured speaker at a convention of the U.S. League of Savings Institutions in Boston last July. Sorry for the delay in passing this news on to the class, but the clipping was just recently brought to my attention. In any event, John is currently a lawyer practicing in Peoria, I11., and is a specialist on tax law changes in regard to savings institutions. After Dartmouth, John went on to Harvard Law School and also received a master's degree from Oxford University. He is currently a partner in the Peoria law firm of Sutkowski & Washkuhn Associates and is a member of the Massachusetts, Illinois, Ohio, and New York bar associations. He and his wife, the former Cynthia Eppley, also a lawyer, have two children.

Phil Maloney writes from Lake Tahoe, where he spent last summer doing some sail racing and participated in a successful five-day fly-fishing trip to the Deschutis River in Oregon. Phil and Sue just celebrated the birth of their third child and first son. Congratulations to you both.

Matt Montagne recently traveled to Lienz, Austria, which is a sister city of Jackson, Wyo., where he currently resides. Matt has been doing some wind surfing, hiking, and skiing during the four seasons at Jackson Hole.

News from Mike DeVries. Mike is working, in New York City as an actor, where he is doing any one of a number of things including musicals, television commercials, industrial and trade shows, along with some soap opera and movie work thrown in. Mike and his wife are really enjoying the New York experience and love the variety of the city. He occasionally sees Bob Ryan and other New York-based Dartmouth people. Mike, we look forward to seeing you on the stage and screen.

Andy Caffrey and I occasionally cross paths in the courtrooms of Massachusetts. Andy is a partner with the firm of Caffrey and Caffrey in Andover, where he specializes in real estate law and litigation. Andy is the past president of the Merrimack Valley Dartmouth Club. His wife, Elise, is an executive vice president for commercial lending at the Eliot Bank in Boston. They recently returned from a trip to Hawaii and Australia. Andy and Elise have one daughter, Alison, who is four, and they are expecting their second in May.

That's it for now. Please send along some news when you have a chance. In the meantime, please remember the Alumni Fund.
