Let's congratulate all the '58s whose children graduated from high school, college, and graduate school this spring. Although too numerous to list, special mention to Chuck Neff and wife, Mary, who just completed putting four children through five degree programs!

On the corporate side, Lee Wesselmann continues his steady climb through the ranks of Owens-Illinois, Inc., where he is now vice president-finance. Lee holds an M.B.A. from Cornell and has been with Owens-Illinois since 1961. Pete Hawes was named senior vice president of Orion Capital Corp. Peter continues as president of Orion's subsidiary, DPIC Cos. Fred Bagnall is now vice president of the Asian/Pacific region of Oceaneering Inc. of Houston, one of the world's largest contractors for underwater, survey, engineering, and inspection services.

Fred Pitzner deserved better from me. His correct new telephone is 203/531-0672 and the address is Box 7520, Greenwich, CT 06836.

The program Ray Robbins heads for high school sophomores sounds truly wonderful. Travel to Zermatt, Switzerland, for a semester of excellent education, geology labs in the glaciers, climbing instruction, hiking, and fabulous skiing. Our class produced many exceptional educators. Ray and his wife, Lenita, rank with the best. Contact Ray Robbins, Box 327, 3920 Zermatt, Switzerland.

A famous name in sports for decades, JimSpence is now president of Television International, Inc. After helping create some of television's most memorable programs at ABC, Jim has formed a production company. Showtime pay cable TV network, PAC 10 football, and the 1988 Tour of Olympic and World Figure Skating are among his clients. The book in which Spence tells all was out in May: Up Close and Personal -TheInside Story of Network Television Sports. It's a must read this summer.

Dr. Bob Rudolph recently delivered a paper on treatment of breast cancer at an international conference in St. Gallen, Switzerland. While at another conference in Madrid, the Rudolphs visited U.S. Ambassador Reg Bartholomew, who was "thriving." Quite a change after those years as ambassador in Lebanon.

Locally, we had a satisfying evening of fellowship when the Chicago Dartmouth Club entertained President Freedman. We quickly assembled a table of Nate Palmer,Skip Coggin, Jerry Manne, and John Armstrong, with attending spouses. All were enthusiastic and supportive of our stimulating president.

The Baccalaureate address at the commencement ceremonies of King College was given by Dr. Richard Ray, who is pastor of First Presbyterian Church in Bristol, Va.

Dartmouth's recent publication honoring Rhodes Scholars included Jack Stromberg, now president of Bechtel Financial.

In closing, let's pay homage to Dr. JohnP Whiteley and his agents for conducting a fine Alumni Fund campaign for '58 and to John Murphy, our dynamic new class newsletter editor. Both are making significant contributions to the threads that bind us together wherever we may roam.
