Elmira College recently selected classmate Ace Hall as a new member of its board of trustees. As recently reported, Ace had been promoted to corporate vice president at General Dynamics in St. Louis earlier this year. Also in the news last month, Howard Zelikow was elected to the board of directors of Nobel Insurance, Ltd. of Dallas, an insurer of the explosives industry. He is now a principal with ZKA Associates, insurance consultants in Cleveland. Congratulations to both on this formal recognition of their abilities.

A while back Gene Elsbree sent us an article on helicopter getaways for weekends in the wilderness. One of the possibilities featured was Henthorne Lake Wilderness Camp on the outskirts of the spectacular, but seldom visited, Yolla Bolly Middle Eel Wilderness in northern California, owned by none other than our rancher classmate Dick Wilson. The camp provides a number of activities including horseback riding in the wilderness, hiking, and outstanding fishing. According to the article, four- and fivepound rainbows are the rule and the limit can be had in a matter of hours. While there is little of modern civilization there —no phones, no television, no electricity—there is a resident chef whose cheesecake and chocolate chip cookies are habit forming. Sounds intriguing!

Joe Kagle, now in his second year as director of The Art Center in Waco, Tex., reports that he recently went out on a limb and presented an avant-garde exhibition entitled "Bill Haveron: Images and Visions from a Texas Mind." Joe finds Waco a won- derful place to live and work, with good opportunities to get things done for and with the community. He extends an invi- tation to any '55 in the vicinity to visit Waco and The Art Center.

The Dartmouth Club of Springfield, Mass., recently honored its retiring president, Mike Fletcher, at its last monthly luncheon for the 1988-1989 season. Under Mike's tutelage the club achieved the distinction of "Dartmouth Club of the Year" in 1986. Congratulations, Mike.

Bernard "Buck" Kuttner has been selected for inclusion in the 1989-1990 edition of Who's Who in the World. Buck, an attorney in Newark, has written a code of ethics for municipal officials which is used by cities and counties throughout the United States. He serves as president of the non-profit Institute for Ethical Behavior and as chairman of the American Bar As-sociation Trial Techniques Committee. Buck has also been president of the Essex County Park Commission and the Essex County Bar Association. During his 30-plus years in the legal profession he has devoted a substantial part of his time to representing the poor.
