Charles Monagan has resigned as administrative aide and speechwriter for Governor William O'Neill of Connecticut to become editor of Connecticut Magazine. Charly was O'Neill's campaign press secretary in 1986 and joined the governor's staff in January 1987. He was previously an editor for the magazine, and has authored three books, including The Neurotic's Hand-book.

Jim and Karen Gottschalk and AndyCassel and Carol Jeanne Smith are proud parents of baby girls born in Chicago this summer. Maybe Emily Elizabeth Gotts- chalk and Sophia Grace Cassel will get to spend some stroller time together at the Lincoln Park Zoo, near the Cassel's residence.

I have several notes from former New Hampshire Hall neighbors. Bob Paul is living in Brussels, Belgium, where he heads his law firm's Brussels office. R.C. expects to be there for four years and would love to hear from any classmates who will be passing through. Dale Huessner is engaged to be married to Bonnie Hammer this month. An anonymous source has suggested that Wall Street deal-maker Brook McCann may have been the model for the Dartmouth alumnus role played by Harrison Ford role in "Working Girls." Brook, please let us know if there is any truth to this. Wayne Young has once again been enticed to Hanover to help coach the Rugby Club, and Jack Manning is contemplating joining Wayne in Toronto this month for the Golden Oldies Rugby Tournament. Jack promises more news next month. Garyand Laura Dicovitsky and Gary andGinny Shanley are enjoying the first year of parenthood, and Dico reports that BobKing has moved from Boston back to home- town Chicago, while Jim Nicotri has moved from Baltimore to Boston.

Charles Nearburg has been almost as successful with his avocation of race car driver as he has in the oil business. This has been Charly's first year to make a serious campaign on the Vavoline/Bosch Super Vee Championship Series, and he has worked his way into the top ten in the standings. The Super Vee series is a professional circuit considered to be the training ground for Indy car drivers, and several of his races have been on ESPN, including one to be shown on December 6 and 15.
