A few Christmas cards found their way to Dallas, including greetings from Joel andSusan Hyatt, Gary and Ginny Shanley,Tom and Karen Kavanaugh, and TedAgoos. I reported on the Hyatt clan's move back to Cleveland in the last column, but the family portrait, including my first look at year-old Zachary, prompts another notice. It's good to know Joel hasn't aban abandoned all the "Z" words. The Shanleys are staying busy in the Syracuse area, and mysteriously mention some past travel. Since Gary always used to visit our house in his travels, I'll assume Ginny was referring to a trip to New York to see the Yankees.
The Kavanaughs have relocated to Baldwinsville, N.Y., after eight years in Green Bay, Wis. Tom is the office services manager for CIS Corporation in Syracuse, and I assume that Alexandra, who will soon be a year old, was named after Tom's hometown, Alexandria Bay, rather than Lexis somebody on television. Perhaps the juiciest tidbit came from one of Philadelphia's most eligible bachelors, whose single days are apparently numbered. Ted Agoos is buying a house and plans to wed Martha Moffat sometime this year. Ted's avoidance of our last reunion now makes more sense—l probably wouldn't have taken a potential spouse to reunion during the negotiation stage either.
I also recently received notes from George Carlisle and Gary Dicovitsky. George finally surfaced in Atkinson, N.H., where he and Susan are raising their three children and George is on the board of directors for a school in nearby Derry. George works in Bedford, Mass., where he is president and CEO of Scitex America, an Israelibased manufacturer of computer graphic/printing systems. He travels frequently to Europe and the Middle East, and I would love to hear his Hebrew accent. Gary is enjoying his job with the University of Virginia development office, and Laura is busy with law school. Dico also reports that Joe Leslie is coaching and doing dorm counseling at the University of New Hampshire. Gary also has a new colleague in the development business, David Bellows, who finally left Hopkins Center and is now a researcher/writer for Foundation and Corporate Relations at Blunt Alumni Center. David worked for over ten years as house manager and operations manager at the Hop, and had worked in a temporary capacity assisting the development office before making the official change.
