When it rains it pours, and the letters came pouring in this month, so I'll dispense with the traditional filler and get right to the good stuff. I had the pleasure of joining classmate Richard Clark and his wife, Hilary, at our Stanford GSB ten-year reunion last week, where we watched Stanford actually give Notre Dame a run for their money. Richard looks like he hasn't aged a day, despite the wear and tear of three kids and ten years with Security Pacific Bank's merchant banking unit in Los Angeles.

Proud father Truman Metzel '48 writes of his legacy Su Metzel the following, which he felt "might be of interest to her friends in the class. Su became, in order of

occurrence, 1. a partner in her law firm (Phelan, Pope, & John of Chicago), 2. married (to colleague Matthew Gehringer), and 3. a mother (daughter Ava Beata Gehringer)." Su can be reached at 814 Monroe Street, Evanston, IL 60202 in her spare time.

A.G. Rud (does anyone know A.G.'s real name?) writes that he has been recently promoted to senior fellow at the North Carolina Center for the Advancement of Teaching. A.G. was the assistant director of admissions for Dartmouth from 1982-86.

The American Times-Record reports that Brian Wroczynski recently joined the Doctor's Medical Group of Americus, Ga., where he is a family practitioner specializing in care for the entire family, including pediatrics. Dr. Wroc completed his familypractice residency in 1986 in Charleston and an ob-gyn internship with the army in Tacoma after a number of years in army medical practice.

Charlie Solberg reports that he is "sailing on an even keel" in Chicago where his life is tilled with coaching soccer and hockey for his five (count 'em five) kids ranging from nine to one. Charlie reports that his old Kappa Sig brother Eric Miller went from being his roommate to being his sister's roommate. Now brother-in-law Eric also has five bambinos (what is with you guys?) and lives in Milwaukee where he works for American Appraisers.

Follow-up news on two classmates uncovered by our diligent search to root out our most incommunicado alums: August MIA Michael (don't call me Mike) Winer dropped me this epistle: "Busted! I was enjoying working anonymously in Portland as a mind-body therapist clairvoyant healer and chiropractic physician (is that all?), quietly exploring the frontiers of holistic health—now I've been located and exposed. Worked for two years through the 1988 Olympics with the U.S. Ski Team as a team therapist. I still row, climb mountains, and ski, but my passion is to explore the near and far reaches of conciousness and selftransformation, especially through meditation and journeys through the outer realms of the universe via my astral body—see you all in a dream!" Couldn't have said it better myself.

September MIA Peter Hackett writes "I wish I had some exotic tale to tell which would explain my being an MIA. After eight years with the Denver Center Theatre Company, I moved to Washington, D.C., to take a job as co-director of the M.FA. directing program at Catholic University. I am also a free-lance director. My next project opens January 17 at the Academy Theatre in Atlanta." Peter and his wife, actress Caitlin O'Connell, have a four-year-old son, Trevor.

As our MIA program begins to bear fruit, it has been brought to our attention that many of our Most Incommunicado Alumni have not chosen that fate but are, alas, Prisoners of Work (or Wives). If you know of the identity of any POWs, please forward their internment details to me. Meanwhile, this month we seek the following MIAs: Robin Deny Gil Hahn Carl ZutzTom Gleason Bob IngersollDennis Phillips Pam GerverDavid "Lammy Pie" Lampert Finally, Lou Ann, Elizabeth, and I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a joyous holiday season filled with family and love, and a very prosperous New Year. Feliz Navidad!
