Imagine my surprise when I ran into Jack and Dodie Boyle while strolling down Broadway on the way to work recently. Caught them in a debate over the merits of taking the subway or continue walking to the apartment of their son Edward '87 on the West Side. They spent a couple of days in the Big Apple doing the sights with Edward and his girlfriend Cameron. Edythe and I managed a brief visit with the four of them at our apartment before they took in a show at Lincoln Center.

Word from Dick McDonough, who hosted the class mini-reunion with Caroline on Harvard weekend, is that a small but enthusiastic gathering of classmates got together for the Friday and Saturday evening events. Our classmates at those affairs were: Bill Breed (Judy), Dek Davidson (Louise), Whitey Dunlap, Ai Fiertz (Bev), BobHolmes (Lois), Frank Logan (Drewry), Steve Mandel (Ann), John McCrillis (Kay), John North, Angus Russell (Liz), and Jim Weidman (Ann). The record of the proceedings shows that Elisabeth W. Russell was voted as a member of the class of 1952. Liz holds a senior post at the College as associate director of the Alumni Fund.

Also seen by Dick and Caroline around Hanover over the Harvard weekend were A 1 Acker, Jack Bethel, Bob Brace, BillCondit, and Tom Garrity.

Edythe and I made the Columbia game, which was the first time in recent memoiy that she wasn't raiding the shops on Main Street by halftime. Must have been the company or John and Judy Grocott, MaryTeevens, John McDonald, and Mike Harris"'51, combined with a competitive ball game, that kept her in the stands. Steve Grocott and Bridget McDonald 'B9 helped lower the average age at our noisy gathering. We spotted Andy Stewart in the stands at halftime. He is approaching the end of his Air Force tour of duty at Portsmouth and looking forward to a modest private medical practice after retirement. Mary brought us up to date on daughter Moira Teevens '88 and her bicycle accident last summer after crossing the country by bike with a friend. Moira is nearing full recovery from a serious head injury sustained when a shifting saddle pack went through the spokes and sent her flying to the road.

Before we leave football, Chuck Curtis updated me recently on son Scott's playing with the Philadelphia Eagles. He made the squad as a free agent and plays on all the special teams. To date the regular linebackers have stayed healthy and the Eagles' games have been quite close, so Scott is content to start every game and participate in the 20 to 25 special-teams plays per game. Not bad for a walk on! It's been a busy fall for the Curtises two kids to the altar, Chuck's firm involved in a merger, and Eagles football.

Other class news bullets: Ed Baldridge was recently designated a "distinguished service professor" at Muhlenberg College where he's head of the history department. Ed obtained his Ph.D. from Lehigh and joined the Muhlenberg faculty in 1957. Pete McSpadden's name turned up in a newsclipping about the recent Weicker senate campaign in Connecticut. Despite Pete's able contributions as media director, the election results said it was time for a change in Connecticut senators. Just received an announcement of Gail Sanderson's affiliation with Barbara B. Hill's law firm in Lebanon, N.H.
