Jack Foster sent another sequel to our rendezvous in Chicago last spring—a note about his canoe trip last summer on the Hood River which is above the Arctic Circle in the Northwest Territory. The coleader of the trip, sponsored by Outward Bound, was a lass named Anne Morse, daughter of Tony and Dorothy Morse and granddaughter of the dean of freshmen in our day, Stearns Morse. From Jack's report, it sounds like Anne takes after her aad's outdoor interests and skills. Jack also reported that Sally and he attended a 60th birthday party for Marcel Durot, which Charlotte orchestrated as a successful surprise. Vic and Joan Trautwein were there. Many of us will probably try to slip by old 60 without much fanfare, but what better excuse for a celebration to include a few '52 classmates!

A quick wrapup of the 1989 football season. Since reporting on the Princeton and Yale weekends in Hanover, we managed to hit three road games. In Cambridge we spotted Sandy Wiper, Don and JanMyers, Sandy and Becky Saunders, Samand Pixie Wallis, Harry and Linda Goldsmith, and Bill and Maggie Montgomery. Edythe and I enjoyed dinner that Saturday with the Goldsmiths and Montgomerys in Harvard Square. Since the game was a stinker, conversation centered on Harry and Bill's globe hopping in the course of their respective medical and business pursuits. The hijacking of Bill's luggage in a train station in Rome and Harry's research in such places as China and India provided ammunition for the evening. Jamie Myers '88 was at the game with his friend Michelle from St. Thomas. While the Myers's St. Thomas residence survived September's Hurricane Hugo in good shape, there still was no hot water three weeks into October. So Jamie and Michelle took advantage of a special airline offer to the states in order to take hot showers.

The subway and train rides to Columbia and Penn turned up only two 1952s. HughLefkowitz yielded his aisle seat on the 50 yard line at the Columbia game to make room for our guests and us. Hugh still operates his own executive search firm, Ivy Consultants, in Allamuchy, N.J., near the Delaware Water Gap. He has a favorite sub sandwich shop near Baker Field which lured him to the game. Hadn't been to Franklin Field since the Bednarik-Bagnell days. The Big Green finally came alive that day. Let's hope the momentum carries over to 1990. Dick and Caroline McDonough were at the Penn game. They visited Dwight andJackie Ketcham for the weekend.

There was a lot of Teevens family support at the games this season. Over the course of the five games we made, we encountered Mary and all but one of the nine kids plus several grandchildren. Shawn '82 was at both the Yale and Penn games. Tara, the youngest, took the train up from DC, where she works as a paralegal, to Penn with a new beau. Tara shares her apartment with four guys—says it's a lot easier than having six demanding brothers to wait on.
