It is with deep regret that we report the passing on November 22 of Grace (Mrs. Robert J.) Clark. In the years since she and Bob were married in 1931 she has been a loyal and devoted member of the Dartmouth family. Dartmouth residents and their friends in southern Connecticut will recall her gracious hospitality at many class gatherings in that area, especially on the occasions of Dartmouth-Yale games. Grace has contributed regularly and generously to the Alumni Fund. Advice of her death came from their son, Alexander '55, who follows in his parents' footsteps as a stout member of the larger Dartmouth family. We shall miss Grace, grateful for what she brought to our College and our class.
We have learned that at their last commencement Bowdoin College honored Eaton Leith, professor emeritus of French and former head of Romance languages. At the same time the college dedicated a tree in his honor accompanying it with the following commendation: "This flowering tree honors Eaton Leith, Professor of Romance Languages, friend of generations of Bowdoin students." In retirement Eaton continues to reside in Brunswick, the seat of the college. We join in extending to him our congratulations on his accomplishments and the richly deserved recognition.
