I have no news of, from, or about classmates except for my regular correspondence with ChinceAllen, and unfortunate news of the death of my old roommate Ed Hawley, whose obituary will be in this or a future issue. I think the rules say that in the event of no news, one should just shut up and that talking about one's self as an alternate is a cardinal sin. Well, here comes sin. You don't have to read the rest of this if you don't want to.
Where to live after 87 has been a hot issue with other class secretaries and many others, with variations as to the starting age for consideration. As a long-time opponent of any change in pattern or lifestyle, I must now report that as of February 15 Betty and I have moved. We gave up our lifestyle for Highland Court here in Providence, which advertises itself as providing "Catered Living." Grocery shopping, cooking, and cleanup afterwards will be gone. Extended free local transportation for almost any purpose is part of the deal. Several long-time friends who are already at Highland Court acclaim it highly. We hope to be equally enthusiastic.
This thing we don't acclaim is the task of cutting down our floor space by about three-quarters. Thank God for avaricious grandchildren who have been kind enough to take most of our furniture and household goods off our hands. 101 Highland Avenue, Providence, RI 02906
