Maybe her mother noticed way back when BetsyCrawford Ragan was in kindergarten. Betsy likes to build. First it was Lincoln Logs and Legos not just little one room houses like you and I built, but entire miniature housing developments. In Hanover some of you might have spotted her constructing ice sculptures or shanties. Now, after many years of practice. Betsy will get to do the real thingshe will build houses for people, not just Barbie dolls. In February Betsy and her husband, Bill Ragan '82, left "Oprah" and "Jeopardy" behind and trekked off to Genmena, Zaire. For the next three years they will work with Habitat for Humanity to help low-income families build homes. Apparently putting up a home in central Africa isn't quite like doing the same in suburban America. Instead of driving to the mall to buy a few bricks, Betsy will have to dig up a little soil and make a brick. How's that for backward integration.

People who know Shelley Mosley Starzel know that she is into leather. Most of you probably thought that she was just keeping up with the latest fashions. Wrongo! Shelley grooves on leather-using activities. Maybe I better be more precise or else Shelley's new husband might rough me up. Shelley digs motorcycles. She serves on the state commission in Texas that sets laws for motorcyclists. Recently she has been terrorizing the Lone Star State on her Honda 250 so that she can be more in tune with Hells Angels and other bikers. Actually, she hasn't popped any wheelies on her bike yet, but motorcycle lobbyists are pressuring her to ride her machine or retire from the commission. Come on, Shelley, it's not much different than jockeying a horse (or an elephant!). She also lectures on dyslexia, so give her a call if you need entertainment for an upcoming gig.

Natalie Sokil Bej recently (?) got married. She is at Georgetown Law School, as is Mary Francis Spatola.

Ellen Glazer married Scott Rafshoon '87 in November. She works as a reporter for a D.C. newspaper.

Being the ace investigative reporter that I am, I made a local call (yes, The Source lives in Boston) to an anonymous source in order to dig up a little '86 dirt. She (yes, The Source is female) has an elevated notion of what qualifies for printable news (yes, The Source thinks this is a respectable column; yes, The Source is crazy). At first she insisted that she had nothing newsworthy to report (no, The Source does have friends; no, The Source seems to have a brain). After I reminded her how low I have stooped in the past for "news," and after I pointed out that, unless she thought of some news (or even made up some news), this news column would be quite short, and (most importantly) after I threatened to write about the trapeze hanging in her bedroom (yes, The Source is a lot of fun), she came up with the following news:

After Greg Lukaszewicz graduates from Harvard Medical School he plans to become a plastic surgeon specializing in breast implants. It's good to know that '86s are using their education to satisfy critical human needs.

Don't be surprised if Mimi Cotsen still looks 25 at our 50th Reunion. Her boyfriend is a plastic surgeon. He and Greg are considering teaming up for full body overhauls. Mimi is in her fourth year of medical school; she will be doing her residency in radiology.

John Lonquist is at the Kennedy School. Betsy Hildebrandt will be at the Kennedy School next year. Sarah Geithner is a second-year at Kennedy; she will soon go skiing in Switzerland. Lanie Bertsche is a student at the Harvard Business School; she is looking for a job in Switzerland so that she can be near her boyfriend

Kevin Sankey is a second-year student at Kellogg. Sarah Cotsen will soon be leaving Lazard Freres to attend Harvard Business School. Lan Murray is a first-year student at Wharton.

Liz Musser Spur recently moved to Aspen. She works for a publisher (or was it an advertising firm?) and hopes eventually to own a ski shop.

Bill Rogers is engaged!
