Charlie Schneider reported being in good shape in his retirement home in Santa Barbara, Calif., a few miles from his son's residence. He also found an error in his e-mail address I had used in a previous issue of DAM. It should read charlespops@webtv.net. This afternoon I'll be at Franklin Field

for the game against Penn. Weather forecast is fair, and I'm sure that the rainwater left by Floyd will have been drained off the playing surface. On Oct. 2 I'm going over to Easton where we play Lafayette, and on Oct. 9 our game against Lehigh will be telecast locally, so I'll be a couch potato for that one. I do not plan to attend our mini on Sept. 25, and have so informed JimLyall and Ed Brummer. The 400-plus miles to Hanover is getting to be a bit much for this old bag of bones.

Called Vance Dickerman after John H. Chamberlin had called me to tell me that Vance had lost his wife, Libby. I hope that my call provided a bit of cheer, as Vance said that he was getting adjusted to his loss. Ed wrote that one of the topics to be settled at the mini is the request from the College library for a gift from the class, and you should be hearing about this in the near future. Again, no news from Hanover on the proposed renovation of Memorial Field.
