How are we the same? We are still trendsetters, breaking Dartmouth records for number of alumni at a reunion (404 from our graduating class of around 950), breaking records for total reunion attendance (786), and breaking records for 10th Reunion giving (we presented the College with a check for over $l80,000, much to the credit of Meg LePage, Mark Alperin,Caroline Coggeshall, and Ellen Remsen.) And, as far as I could tell, we broke records for having a good time. The '79s and the '81s seemed to agree did you notice how they all ended up at our tent? (They have always wanted to be '80s, anyway.)

and Monica Williams Knox traveled to Hanover from Germany, where she resides with husband and daughter. AmyLadd, an orthopedic surgeon, has finally landed a real job, and will assume an assistant professor's position at Stanford this summer. George Lester, who spent years working with MassPIRG, finished off law school at Northeastern and is an attorney in Boston. Trina Olin Santry was recently wed in Virginia, but emerged from the wedding presents and thank you notes to join us in Hanover. Brooks Shumway is a political appointee in Washington, D.C. EllenMartin Taratus, with husband Ken and son Ken, trekked to Hanover from Los Angeles, where she is a fundraising consultant. KimMcConaughy Vletas runs a fish tackle business in Teton Village, Wyo., and MikeWall works with a biotech firm in Camerino, Calif.

And with this, I hand the pen (not my computer, just a pen) to Mike Carothers and Dan Zenkel, who will together produce this column for the next five (count 'em, five) years. It's been a challenge and a pleasure documenting the follies and foibles of the class of '80. Thanks for listening.
