Dudley Pope and his wife, Virginia, (how lucky can they be?!?) took a three-month vacation in Hanover over the summer. We all envy you two.

Cap Palmer's wife, Marion, has been in such poor health over these last months as to require much of Cap's attention. This culminated recently in a massive stroke. As I write these notes in mid-September, Marion is still in the hospital with very poor prognosis.

Howard Bartlett continues to live alone since his wife, Helen, died four years ago. His house, near Brunswick, Maine, and 11 miles from Maine's rugged, rock-bound coast, was sturdy enough to survive the recent hurricane that swept down the coast.
