The 1991 Alumni Fund has now been completed. '58s can rejoice in the fact that under the leadership of John Whiteley, we surpassed our goal of $2 00,000, raising approximately $220,000. We came in just under our goal of 65 percent participation. John is now at work organizing our goals for our 35th Reunion gift to the College.

I Speaking of our 35th Reunion, I'm reminding you again to circle the dates on your calendar now. '58s will be returning to the Hanover Plain to celebrate June 15-18,1992. Since those dates are a Monday through Thursday, start making your plans now.

Reunion Chairman Dick Jacob writes that plans for our 35th Reunion are gaining momentum. We will be holding several joint symposia with the classes of '56 and '57 on such topics as estate planning (yes, the years are rolling by—keep those knees supple so we can all march at commencement on our 50th!); foreign affairs, featuring top foreign policy experts from our classes; and perspectives on Dartmouth in the eighties. A joint picnic is planned near the boathouse on the Connecticut River with a Harry Belafonte-style calypso band. The river is clean now, so swimming and water activities will be the order of the day for those hot Hanover June days.

The next time you are in Seattle, give ClayFreeman a call. Clay has just become vice president in charge of sales and marketing for Roffe Inc., a Seattle-based marketer and manufacturer of Roffe skiwear. He will be continuing a long career in the ski business. Brings back for me fond memories of skiing on Crystal Mountain just north of Mt. Rainier.

The world of higher education is all the richer with the election of Walt Wilson as chairman of the board of Springfield College, a private, co-educational institution in Springfield, Mass., that emphasizes educating students for the "human helping professions," such as physical therapy, counseling, and sports medicine, as well as the management of social welfare agencies like the YMCA and United Way. Now living in Houston, Texas, Walt is also an advisory director of the Blaffer Gallery of the University of Houston. In his spare time he earns his living as a general agent for the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company.

Look forward to seeing John, Dick, Clay, and Walt and the rest of you '58s in Hanover June 15-18, 1992 at our 35th.
