When President Tobin called the executive committee meeting to order at noon on September 28 during our 1991 mini-reunion, there were 27 classmates and 27 wives and widows gathered in the Smoyer lounge. Many had traveled quite a distance like the Fred Robbes and StanSilverman from Florida, the Bob Engelmans and Oscar Cohn from Illinois, the Dick Houcks from Tennessee, Laura Heath from Ohio, and the Tom Beers from our capitol All the class officers were present.

The weekend benefited from the superb planning talent and money control of EdBrown. It started Friday with a good dinner at Pierce's Country Tavern and Jay Heinrichs editor of this magazine, as our fine speaker, and with Jack Gilbert providing his smashing piano wrap-up for our evening. Saturday evening we were at the Hanover Inn, and all were happy after the Big Green victory over Bucknell on a beautiful afternoon. When the last-minute touchdown brought the score to 34-16, you can be sure all '34s stood and waved our '34 caps high. Our evening ended in celebration at Bill and Gerry Scherman's home.

Bob Engelman and Stan Smoyer reported on the remarkable new 57-year out record established by '34 for the Alumni Fund, and Bill Daniells pointed out that participation was up by 12. Lois Frankel was introduced as the new widows chair who will encourage widows to stay active in our '34 family.

Karl Weber, chairman of our memorial gifts for the Alumni Fund, also spoke of the vital connection of widows to Dartmouth and its financial base. Art Leonard referred to the capital gifts campaign and pointed out that life income trusts are a good way to give assets to the College while holding onto the income they can provide.

Bill Wilson reminded us that our next big reunion comes in June 1994. He's locked in as reunion chairman. Save that date!
