Our fall mini-reunion is now history. I had hoped to give you a run-down on who, what, and where for the November issue, but this magazine has some pretty firm deadlines. Thanks to Bob Kimball I can give you an almost first-hand report. Those attending were Bob and Jackie Kimball, Jack and Anona Sayers, Whitey and Joanne Burnham, Jack Whitman and Natalie Kneale, Tom and Mary Cohn, Rosemary Marlette, Gene and Gail Bokor, Duncan and Ruth Fitchet, Reg and Nancy Pierce, Jud and Grace Hannigan, Bill and Bobbie DeStefano, Ham and Nancy Bailey, Jim and Gene Von Rohr, and Paul and Jean Engelhart. Rosemary Marlette was joined by Andy Carstensen '45 and his wife, Betsy.
My informant states that a good time was had by all; the weather cooperated, and plans are already underway for next year. Our thanks go to Whitey Burnham and Jack Sayers for their efforts, and to the Kimballs for submitting their house to attack once again.
The class executive committee met on Saturday in the a.m. There were no startling developments there except to find that the class is solvent. Apparently there was some movement by the College to raise money to buy wood for future bonfires on Dartmouth Night. According to Kimball, this did not spark (ouch!) much interest in your classmates.
Don Furber called to tell me that he and Margaret and Frank Aldrich '45 and his wife had vacationed in early September. I'm not sure this really happened as I did not hear of any unrest in those countries about that time. A usual Furber junket has occasioned no less in the past.
Bob Poet sent me a couple of pictures of himself and Don Alvarez taken at the wedding of Don's son in Sausalito, Calif. Thanks Bob, and yes, you probably could beat me in the 440, 880, or any other distance now, but only because I need a cane for locomotion. Jack Whitman is the new president of the Dartmouth Club of Cape Cod. Congratulations, Jack!
As I write we still do not have a new class agent. Applications with or without resumes should be sent to Jud Hannigan, our president. I know it's a tough job, but surely we have someone who will do this. It does not pay much in fact, nothing but you'll have our everlasting gratitude.
