And now, as promised last month, here's an update from Keith Hampton on wives, family friends and strangers. Keith on him self: "As we live in Telluride, Colo., I spend alot of time pursuing outdoor activities including hiking, backpacking, skiing, and camping. I am also the program director of the Telluride Wine Festival."
Keith on his wife, Alicia Bixby: she had a baby boy at the end of June and "did great, although five days of labor was definitely enough. She is a partner in our company 'The Marketing Partnership,' a business specializing in national sports marketing programs, and also serves on the Environmental Commission of Telluride and the board of directors of the Telluride Nordic Association."
Keith on others: Jay Miller is living in Milwaukee where he works in the imaging division of General Electric. He recently became director of marketing for his division and has been spending his free time traveling and competing in biathlons. John "Goat" Gaudioso and his wife, Ann, are living in Connecticut, longing for New Jersey, and expecting their first child in May. "When worrying about how his life is going to change, he works for IBM as company financial guru!" J. Turner Stauffer is completing his final year in the advanced study of internal medicine, and he and his wife, Karen, are expecting their second child. In July the Stauffers will be moving from Colorado to settle in Birmingham, Ala., where Turner will be a partner in "the leading gastro-enterology practice in the state."
Keith continuing on others: Chuck Cairns is a faculty member at UCLA Medical School specializing in emergency medicine. Chuck married Dr. Monica Kraft last May and the two will be playing doctor at the University of Colorado come June. Tom Richards and his wife, Diane, live in Simsbury, Conn., with their new daughter. She is 18 months old and "likes to copy everything that's done or said. Maybe she'll be the first baby to chug." Any challengers? Dave Lull is living in Denver and working for a venture capital group. "Dave has his real estate, insurance, and securities licenses so I guess he can buy or sell anything."
Thanks for the executive update Keith. Sorry I had to abridge it. Now on to other promised old news.
Dinah Hamilton broke an eight-year silence to write that she is the south/central regional counsel for Cushman & Wakefield. Her region includes most of the southeast and she is based in Adanta. Also with the firm are Joe Cook '71 who is western regional counsel, based in San Francisco, and Steve Sandberg '74, who is general counsel and based in New York. Other lawyers in Atlanta include Jane Saunders, working the bankruptcy circuit for Trotter Smith, and Lillian Cousins Giornelli and husband Greg. Dinah promises to write again in 1998.
This from Mike Sapers: "On October 7, under sunny skies and unseasonably warm weather (85 degrees), I joined fates with Marci Feldman, a Duke '84, under a Chuppah in Harrison, N.Y. Surrounded by a bunch of Dartmouth buddies (Bruce Weissberg,Geoff Hoffman, Richard Papert, TomDaniels, Amy Haigh Fasset '83, Mary Meeker '84, Matt Hoffinan, and Howie Brick '83, as well as my Dad, William Sapers '50, and Bob Franger '56) and married by the ex-Dartmouth rabbi, Michael Paley, it was a fabulous day. 'Men of Dartmouth' was sung a couple of times, and the party ended with 25 guys worming on the dance floor. Everyone should be as happy as I am." Congratulations, Michael, and I wouldn't want to go to school with 1,000 Mike Sapers either.
Ralph, I'm going to do it to you again. Please don't take it personally. Here's a start of what Ralph McDevitt had to say, anonymously: He and his wife, Tink, are the proud parents of two daughters, Ellen and Eliza. Ralph is a stock broker with A.G. Edwards and at this writing should be returning from an eyeopening business exchange to India. Tim and Rosi Dupré Littlefield broke the Dupré string by having Max, her second child, in November. Karen Nasterson and her husband Sedge are proud parents of a daughter, Kelly, who might be a little Irish. Ralph got that from Sue Burkhardt, who is Nearing completion of her dissertation after a long law-psychology program. More on Ralph next month.
