The spring issue of the Cardigan Chronicle, a publication of the Cardigan Mountain School, mentioned that Dr. Robert Kenerson '60, the son of Fran and Jack Kenerson, has been honored for his 25 years of teaching at the Harvard Medical School. He is a trustee of Cardigan, and Jack is a trustee emeritus. Dr. Kenerson received his Ph.D. from Boston University and his psychiatric training at Harvard. In addition to teaching at Harvard he has a full private practice as a board-certified psychiatrist with psychiatric training. Sounds formidable. Maybe some of us could benefit from his services.

Ed Flanders received a letter from HelenOrsi, accompanying her contribution to the alumni fund in memory of Phil, in which she tells of the tragic death of their granddaughter, Pamela Orsi. Pam, a graduate of the Cornell class of '85 with a degree in animal science had worked several years in the Bronx Zoo caring for tigers, rhinos, deer, and elephants. The elephants intrigued her most and in May 1990 she went to the San Diego Wild Animal Park as a keeper-trainer of the elephants. Her liking for the elephants was reciprocated and one in particular followed her around like a puppy. But, last March, while she was exercising an elephant, two Asian females got into a fight, came up behind her and trampled her. She was killed instantly. Helen has our deepest sympathy in this untimely death of a grandchild who evidently was a delightful person dedicated to a most unusual calling.

The latest published poet in our midst is Ed Flanders. He sold a poem to Hopswitch Magazine containing the sage advice, which we all should follow, to never jump over a kangaroo.

We regret to report that Sam Magavern died May 28.
