Our 70th was stupendous. Jerry Sass did a superb job staging the event. Arriving in a wheelchair, he also did a courageous job of getting there. Seven of the classmates listed in last month's report made it. Unfortunately, Red Edgar fell down on his way out his front door and was hurt sufficiently to cancel. He was badly banged up but is now O.K. We also had our wonderful widows, Barbara McSorley, Hilda Rickenbaugh, and Laura Sadler. Sixteen classmates and their family members were accommodated at the Inn, and many more were in attendance.

On Friday, at the class dinner, David Orr '57, senior associate to director of alumni relations, introduced ArtKneerim, who introduced Margaret Otto, College librarian, who gave us a talk on class and College history. After the memorial service next day, ably conducted by Irv Engelman, a class meeting was held. Since the College will act as treasurer and send out bills for class dues henceforth, it was decided there was no longer a need for class officers except for a chairman of the permanent executive committee. Laura Sadler was drafted for that job. I will continue to act as secretary pending the miraculous discovery of a successor.

The class picture had to be taken inside the Inn due to rain. The campus tour gave us an idea of how tremendously the College has grown since our day. Accommodating twice the student body it did in 1928, the plant must have tripled in size and is still growing.

At the dinner on the 27th we were entertained by a great barbershop quartet with Orton Hicks Jr. '49 on the piano and Dick McSorley '50 on the base fiddle. David Orr gave us a talk. Our speaker was Larry Tweedy, who talked of his war experiences. The food and refreshments were great. Particularly gratifying to those in attendance was that all expenses were paid with remaining funds in the class treasury plus funds from the College. A delightful time was had by all.
