58 Fortunately or not, as you may have noted in last month's column, the coup called for by John Murphy 'in the April Sound and Fury did not take place. The slate presented by Ron Snow and his nominating committee was elected during our reunion. The coup having failed to materialize, it is not too late to get your oar into the class of '58 shell (Dartmouth's heavyweight crew had such a great year, I couldn't pass up the metaphor). Skip Louis will be taking over the reins as president of our class when the Executive Committee meets for the first time this month. Our "retiring" president, John Graf, is not letting the dust settle. Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Hampshire has announced the appointment of John to its board of directors. For John's sake, let's hope it's one of the solvent Blue Cross and Blue Shield plans.

In Connecticut Walt Vail has been named president of The Mortgage Corner, a subsidiary of Centef bank of Waterbury, Conn. Walt has had to move from New Hampshire to Connecticut. Welcome, Walt, to the mortgage world. Any suggestions for my mortgage here in Riverside?

Did you see that photograph of Don Klages on the front page of that same April issue of Sound and Fury? If I did not know better, I would have sworn that Don was ready to throw on the pads and try to catch that pass over the middle in the Princeton game which had gone incomplete.

Learned earlier this summer of the death of Vertie Ives. Ail obituary will appear in a later issue of the Alumni Magazine. Drop me a postcard with news of what's going on in your life.
