61 Oak Winters writes, "I want you to know that Old Bald Eagle is moving his perch on August 17 to Montana. My new address will be Dean for Outreach, 215 Linfield Hall, Montana State University, Bozeman, MT 59717. (406) 994-6647." Take a moment to note the change in your new class directories. Oak, who had been at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, goes on, "Responsibilities will focus on integrating the Cooperative Extension Service, Summer Sessions, and Extended Studies into a comprehensive, university-wide initiative for lifelong learning and technical assistance across Montana. I'm excited as a youngster on Christmas morning about the prospect of living and working in Big Sky country ..."

By now, most of you are aware that StephenBosworth won the election for Trustee, so the class now has a man at the top, and obviously a person to see or write to when you have something to say about the College. Bos continues to serve as president of the U.S.Japan Foundation, and his appearances in that job generate a fairly steady stream of newspaper clippings. Some print his biography as if each posting during his Foreign Service days were equal, without the slightest hint of the major role he played in the departure of Marcos and in charting the future of the Philippines while he was ambassador.

Capsule reminder of Dartmouth Night weekend: The hotel is the Sheraton North Country in West Leb. Dartmouth Night parade and rally on Friday night, October 16. Pre-Yale-game cookout on Saturday, patio of the Fayerweather Dorm Cluster Social Center. The class of 1961 cocktail party and banquet follow the game Saturday night at the DOC House on Occom Pond. At our Saturday morning class meeting, President Art Kelton plans to focus on "Dartmouth Goes Hollywood," our special reunion in Los Angeles scheduled for May 6-9, 1993, chaired by Oscar Arslanian. A tentative schedule should be available.

And good news from Henry Eberhardt: we made our Alumni Fund goal of $160,161, our highest non-reunion total; our participation was 64 percent; 39 pledged leadership gifts of more than $1,000; and nine pledged more than $1,769. As a class, we've given $3.49 million since graduation. That's quite a chunk.

Shelly Baroff is a Bay Area obstetriciangynecologist with a practice so busy that he is taking on an associate. But Shelly also has been looking around for what he described as "business opportunities." He was able to buy several "poorly run automobile dealerships" in January for a price significandy under their value in Stockton, Calif., and now sells BMWs, Mitsubishis, Buicks, and Pontiacs. He says the dealerships already are becoming profitable. When we talked to Shelly, he also said he was driving a race car. And he sounded great on the telephone.
