Do you now wonder where the year has gone as 1993 looms ahead? Probably by then all of our class should qualify for senior-citizen discounts.

Our tour of the National Parks made it possible to contact classmates in the Mountain Zone. Jim Mylton is enjoying retirement and is looking forward to the 45th. He was glad he had a chance at the 40th to renew acquaintance with Ken McClain. A year ago Jim spent seven weeks, from September to November, traveling in Europe with stops in Paris, various spots in Switzerland, and one month in Italy. His future plans are for a trip to Australia and New Zealand, but in the meantime he enjoys the Colorado Mountains. He told me that Ralph Melville has developed a successful ski chalet lodge in Aspen.

Another retiree of two years is PhilipJohnson, who took a trip to Italy and expects to go to Istanbul, Turkey, in October.

Had a real good chat with John Dahle. John is in a law firm in Denver and is a third generation lawyer with one of his sons in law school, I guess to carry on the tradition. John is beginning to think about retirement but said such a lifestyle change will cause him some concern as he loses the cameraderie of his fellow firm members and the thrill of a client calling upon him for service. In 1989 he toured the Soviet Union, and during 1990-91 he took a trip around the world from China to France. Then several months ago the Dahles traveled through Norway and Sweden. If they continue at this pace there will not be many places to visit. John said he keeps in contact with CurtHicks and hopes to attend our next full reunion.

I tried several times to contact LeeBronson, who is in the ski resort business in Alta, Utah, but I continued to get his answering machine. Since snow hadn't begun in that part of the country yet, maybe the Bronsons were on vacation.

Had dinner with Doug and Gracie Parsons. Doug continues to enjoy a leisurely life and play lots of golf to improve an already low, low handicap. He still enjoys skiing, but by the end of January he and Gracie are going to Puerto Rico, and then in March they'll spend a month on St. Augustine, a beach in Florida.

Reviewing the classmate listing, I found that Johnny Stockwell is living in nearby Sandwich. So a call to John discovered him enjoying life in New Hampshire after career stops on Cape Cod, in Worcester, Mass., and in Saudi Arabia. He said all you have to do is spend time on foreign soil to appreciate what we have in the U.S. The New Hampshire location is visited by his six children and ten grandchildren, to John's delight.

Mini-Reunion Chairman Punchy Thomas told me the largest number ever were expected to attend the Yale game and Dartmouth Night reunion. In the next column I will include information on this weekend and people who attended.

Leigh and I wish to wish you all a merry holiday season and especially a healthy and happy New Year.
