Last year seems a long time ago, but to be more exact, on December 27 the Club had a luncheon for the undergraduates and parents. We were fortunate to have Bob Pierce here at the time, Jack Kofoed and his son Bill, Dr. Harry Tarr and his son Steve, and Charles Aye were all that could manage to make the meeting. Of course the holiday season here is a very busy time with all of the Orange Bowl activities. In fact our guests almost outnumbered the members.
Al Bisson '42, the chairman of our Schools and Admissions Committee, has been doing a whale of a job contacting the Dade County high schools. The first part of December we had the film, "My First Week at Dartmouth" here, and he exhibited it to about 150 prospective Dartmouth boys. We have had several applications for interviews and boy, the interviewers have certainly been hard boiled; so that any boy from this area who gets the green light must have the stuff. To say the least this area is becoming Dartmouth conscious.
We are disappointed to learn that the College does not plan to route a speaker down this way this spring but I suppose that we should consider ourselves blessed inasmuch as we were able to. have President Dickey down here last spring. Plans for a spring party are in the hands of a committee and to date nothing has been reported so I cannot pass the word along for the readers of the ALUMNIMAGAZINE who might be in the area and not on the mailing list of the Club.
