A tip of the green derby again to Head Class Agent Mark Waterhouse, Deputy Class Agent Bob Block, and their band of volunteers, and a hearty round of snaps for all classmates who contributed to the 1992 Alumni Fund. With an impressive participation rate of 67 percent—the College average was 59.2 percent—and a group of 35 leadership donors who contributed $ 1,000 or more, we raised $177,712, besting our goal of $168,000 by a comfortable margin. As Mark notes, "We done good again!"
As Line Eldredge would add, let's not become complacent. Our 25th Reunion offers an extra-special opportunity for each of us to make a real difference at Dartmouth by committing to a substantial reunion gift. Line, who chairs our reunion giving committee, is already hard at work, along with lieutenants Jeff LeVeen,Jon Page, John Engelman, Jim Topinka, and others organizing our development effort. Look for a mini-reunion in Washington, D.C., on January 29, related to this effort.
Another mini-reunion is planned for May 1 in New York City. Members of the class of '67 have invited us to join them that evening for dinner and a show, the award-winning Guysand Dolls, directed by four-time Tony Award winner Jerry Zaks '67.
Bill Vail writes from Chico, Calif., to say that he and Cathie look forward to the 25th. With his letter, Bill sent along a great photo of Fred Martin, Parker Beverage, Bill, and a trio of Duke University NROTC midshipmen taken near Corpus Christi, Texas, on our 1966 summer "cruise."
Bob Reich is at it again. A flyer from the National League of Cities announced that Bob was the keynote speaker at the Opening General Session of the NLC Conference on November 29 in New Orleans.
Happy Holidays to all!
