Welcome to 1992! There is much news about '81s (some detailed, some not), so I'll get right to it. I was impressed to see Dave Shula on the front page of the New York Times and posing in Sports Illustrated (not the swimsuit issue). For those of you who have been on Mars, Dave has been named head football coach of the Cincinatti Bengals and is being heralded as the paragon of a new generation of player-coaches. Congrats Dave, and good luck! Business Week recently put together a list of what they called the Business Elite, or companies well-respected in their industry. HansHelmerich, CEO for Helmerich and Payne, popped up in the CEO list and was the youngest by eons. Well done!

On October 12 Weyman Lundquist was married to Lillian Hamrick, a Yale graduate and lawyer. The wedding was attended by Dartmouth graduates of all ages (Weyman's dad is a '52), including Lucy Irwin Christoph, lan Christoph, Tom Duke and wife Carol Burns (Duke '80), Deal Burrell, CharmaignCurtis, and Charlie Hozenga. The reception was at Awamee Lodge in Yosemite Park.

Nancy Milholland writes that she is in her third, and final, year at Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in Evanston, I11. The school is an Episcopal seminary in the middle of the Northwestern University campus. Nancy will be ordained to the deaconate in Boston this May, and she plans on working in the Boston area next year as a deacon. After years of work in the computer field, this represents a real career change for Nancy, and it is one that thrills her.

Bill "Fred" Sherman writes drat he attended Peter Caron's wedding in Seattle last August. Fred notes that the bachelor party was in a houseboat on Lake Washington. Lots of water skiing and other activities abounded, as well as a surprise announcement by BobCrowe. Fred remembers the announcement, but none of the details, such as who Bob's fiancee is. Must have been plenty of beer, too!

Many '81s attended the wedding, including Tom Waterman, Kent and Cathy LewisWhitaker ("ditching their four kids in Houston"—kids?), Chris Toll, Tim Hudner,Pancho Ryan, Tim and Nora Phillips, AnnJacobus, Mike Leeds, Tucker Gilman, and John and Pam Simonson. Thanks for the news, Fred.

Chris Niehaus, still with Morgan Stanley Real Estate, has been transferred to New York and promoted to principal. Chris reports that two other '81s at Morgan, John Westerfield and Kirk Wilson, have also been promoted to principal. Jon is with Chris in the real-estate group, and Kirk is in corporate finance. Congratulations, guys!

Keith Hammond is reportedly engaged (consider it reported) to Jackie Dyer, whom he met at Harvard Business School. Keith and Jackie are on their way to Africa, where they plan to spend a year doing a variety of things before returning and getting married. They are starting out in South Africa, where Keith is planning to help an ANC-related newspaper with financial planning. Mostim portandy, Keith will be taking a leave of absence from his class newsletter duties. Kevin Lynch has generously consented to assume Keith's duties during this next year.

Speaking of Kevin, he is in charge of minireunion activities. If you have any interest in organizing one in your area, let him know. That's all for this month—keep in touch. Cheers.
