81 Preparing for my penultimate column in this august magazine, it came upon me—covering my senses like a wet clammy sock that has been sitting all night in a failed spin cycle: I'm through, washed up, finished, kaput. Even worse than that, my creative juices (and my sources) have dried up. Given this tragedy, I'll do the best that I can!
Jill Martin Eichner and husband Ad celebrated the birth of Alexander Martin, born February 8. Alexander is the third in the Eichner series and joins Kyle, age four and a half, and Jim, who is somewhat younger than Kyle and somewhat older than Alexander.
Double the trouble and joy came to TomDuke and wife Carol Burns Duke '80, who had twins. Not much detail on when, what type, and other vital statistics, but there may have been something in the water at the Bull's Eye, because Bernie Sheehan and his wife, Allison, have also doubled up with twins William and Amy, born on March 10. The scary part is that Bernie and Allison already had two kids, Samantha Marie 4-1/2 and ohn 3. Bernie noted that he and Allison had hoped a third child would break ties between the older two, but now its just Mom and Dad who will be tied up. Bernie is at the International Finance Corp., where he is a workout expert specializing in Mexico. Needless to say, Bernie has his hands full on all fronts.
In business news, Kirk Wilson has been named a managing director at Morgan Stanley. Kirk is in the investment-banking division of Morgan and in the New York office.
Alain Moureaux reports that all is well, and that he and wife Emily Bakemeier '82 are coming to the reunion. Alain has his own firm that investigates white-collar crime, and he has traveled extensively searching for troublemakers the world over. Alain noted that he is traveling much less now—apparently the U.S. has enough to investigate!
Holly Dustin let me know that she has called everyone she knows to remind and encourage them to attend the reunion in June. (For those of you who are still uncommitted, the dates are June 16-18.) Holly has not been, shall we say, inundated with return calls, "unfortunate evidence of the state of my popularity," says Holly. She is still with the law firm Ryan and Ryan in Connecticut, a surprise to all her friends who were sure she'd be living on a farm in Vermont by now.
Cheers, and see you in June.
