We are on the beach in Puerto Rico celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary with all the children, grandchildren, and respective spouses. We have been conducting an informal poll which indicates the following with a three-percent, plus or minus, margin of error: the Great Class of 1935 is petty well scattered throughout the United States, with a few abroad. Graduates live in 40 of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Mexico, Panama, and Switzerland. With 45 residents, Florida appears to be the most popular state, followed closely by Massachusetts with 32. Close to our educational roots, there are 27 residents in New Hampshire and 20 in Vermont.

Assuming that the class consisted of 670, there are 338 still living. This is six more than those no longer with us. The approximate percentages are impressive: 50.298 percent living and 49.702 percent deceased. One of these days these percentages will probably change, and not necessarily for the better.

We had a card from Wiley Hubbell reporting that he was in Florida for three months, honing his golf game so that he could hustle his friends up north in Roanoke. He had already had dinner with Cramp and GinnyCarrick and Al Sherwood and was hoping to see additional Dartmouth faces in the Naples area. We also had a long and detailed letter from Bill Hands about a high school junior in Columbia, South Carolina, a 6'2", 230 lb. athlete with high scholastic honors and an interest in Dartmouth. The information was immediately passed on to Don Radasch, who will see to it that the necessary steps are taken.
