Carl Amon, Stan Berenson, Doug Butman, FranFenn, Jim Otis, and Haland Marlene Putnam represented our class at the August 22 memorial service for Al Gray of Gloucester. Fran said, "Hal, who roomed with Al in our sophomore year, spoke for the class and paid a beautiful tribute to Al for his dedication to the 1937 family and his generosity to Dartmouth College."
Visitors to Hanover this summer included Bill Storck, who was seeing a navy friend, and Jack Devlin, who gave a tour of the campus to grandson Scott Devlin, a prospective Dartmouth student.
In each column we will tell you about a classmate who has continued his profession either as a volunteer, parttime, or consultant. In the spring our president, Russ Stearns, will teach a project-design course at Thayer School. It is an undergraduate course leading to an A.B. degree in die engineering science major. It is a tribute to Russ that he is still an active faculty member at Dartmouth.
Mini-reunions can happen in many places at many times. In early September Russ and Lee Sterns, Bob and Liz McCoy, and BillTimbers gathered at Harty and Peg Beardsley's in Blue Hill, Maine, near beautiful Mt. Desert Island. Bill summers in nearby Surry, where the Beardsleys also have a home which has been in Peg's family since 1790.
