Meg Houston, with a familiar return address of West Lebanon, announced her marriage to Robin Ellison in July. While husband Robin labors at Dartmouth Med School writing curricula for physical and health-challenged students and coaching Nordic skiing at Hanover High, Meg programs computers for a Norwich firm and concentrates on her painting. She is enjoying the lively arts community of the Upper Val- ley and has exhibited in New Hampshire and Vermont, all while contemplating an advanced degree in painting or starting her own gar- dening business.
Some press releases on the luxurious stock of the Dartmouth Alumni Association of New York City announced the progression up the Dartmouth alumni ladder of some of our classmates. Debby Rowe Marchiony,George Bingham, and Tracey Salmon were all elected to the executive committee of the DAANYC. Due to a dearth of other infor- mation, however, I cannot report on what they do during the rest of their days. Congratula- tions, anyhow.
Christen Fitzpatrick O’Conner con- tinues to keep me updated on her circle. She recently attended Sally McColl’s wedding to Dan Milewsky in Michigan. While Chris- ten says the Green delegation was small, Christen and husband Dan ’BB, Betsy Booth,Laura Gasser, Sally Dunn, and John Zonis made their presence known with a heartfelt rendition of the “Barney” song during din- ner. (And to think this group doesn’t have any toddlers yet—which means they learned the song on their own!) Betsy has headed off to grad school at UNC, Sally D. com- pleted her M.B.A. and is into pharmaceuti- cals, Sally M. teaches in D.C., and Laura and Zebo are lawyering in D.C. and N.Y.C., respectively.
Also on the wedding front appeared ErinFoster and Jeff Blatt. After a whirlwind courtship, Erin spent the three days prior to the wedding in the hospital with a mysteri- ous infection of the digestive tract, but “through the miracle of modern medicine,” she recovered enough to make it to the rehearsal and pulled off the wedding as planned. Now, that’s what I call rallying power! Jeff works in circulation at Time (he’s “responsible for all the junk mail,” says his wife), and Erin is a librarian at BBDO Adver- tising. Paul Yanes took the time to serve as best man amidst the process of moving to N.Y.C. to join the law firm of Davis, Polk. Jon Silverman was a reader for the ceremo- ny, flying in from Austin, Texas, where he is pursuinga Ph.D. in American Studies. Other guests included Scott Gewirtz, DennisSughrue, Dan Bernstein, Mark Quinlan,Pat Quinton, Bill Martin, and Kevin andGinny Wise Wilkins.
Mary Page Michel started B-school at Duke this fall, where her husband, Michael, will coach lacrosse. Linda Albright is work- ing on a master’s in art history in California, and Cathy Welch is finishing up her residency in Washington, D.C.
Imagine my surprise when I was leafing through a Ladies’ Home Journal at our local library one rainy afternoon, and I spotted a photo of Sarah McCraw. Upon closer exam- ination of the editorial page I discovered that Sarah is associate editor of books and fic- tions. For this particular special feature Sarah worked with celebrity guest editors, influen- tial women such as Connie Chung and Maya Angelou.
Happy holidays to all, and may the New Year bring you peace, joy, and opportunity.
