Deb van Winkle is now Deb Dulsky after her August wedding to Mark Dulsky (Amherst ’89). The couple resides in Stamford, Conn., and Deb is the Young Alumni chair of Fairfield County. In otherwedding news, Tricia Paik attended the September wedding of Diana Rosof to Mark Williams, a sculptor, in Panama City, Fla. Diana met Mark last year while on a Rotary scholar- ship at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne in England, where she studied paint- ing, art history, and theory. Other’9ls pre- sent at the wedding were Tallie Grey, DavidO’Brien (the best man), TraceyKavanaugh, and Donna Soave, as well as Lisabeth Sewell ’92.
Erika Wentworth shared the news of her August 28 wedding to Pat Kalaher, in Duxbury, Mass. Pat is the coordinator of net- work services for the College of Arts and Sci- ences at the University of Maryland, where he oversees several computer labs (“sort of like those guys at Kiewit,” he says). Erika is a graduate student at Georgetown Univer- sity and will be receiving her master’s degree in English and American literature in Decem- ber, when she finishes her thesis. She teach- es a writing workshop for Georgetown’s School of Continuing Education and a mul- ticultural writing course, called “Beyond Boarders,” to recent immigrants at the Wil- son School in Alexandria, Va. She also tutored English in an inner-city high school last spring as a volunteer for the Literacy Corps of America. Pat’s best man was Randal Kahn, and the bouquet was caught by PatrickFitzgerald. Randy is living in Alexandria and works at Birch & Davis as a computer consultant. Pat is working for Merck Phar- maceutical as an engineer.
Josie Schimmel is back from Israel and liv- ing in her hometown of Amherst, where she is once again pursuing her two favorite pas- times; teaching and running. She recently competed in the Tufts 10K and reports that there were a number of Dartmouth women in the race, including Katherine JVlcConville, who posted around a 65th place finish (pos- sible higher) out of more than 4,000 com- petitors.
Ananda Glover-Akpey, who was an engi- neer major, recently had a tough decision to make, according to Graduating Engineer. He will return to his native Ghana to use his own training in software development to help Africans understand the potential of com- puters as vehicles of communication. Anan- da claims “My primary objective is to help cre- ate jobs and opportunities for people in Africa.”
