Happy New Year to all of us! As survivors of 1992 (the less said the better), we can all hope for a happier, healthier year in 1993. Don and Betty Taber didn't let a little recession bother them last year. They had a family reunion in New Hampshire in die summer, traveled to Switzerland and Arizona, and then celebrated their 50th anniversary in November by entertaining their four children and spouses for a long weekend in Bermuda.

Catching up on the gone-but-not-forgotten mini reunion at the Yale game last October, the coverage in the DFTD by that prose pro, George Herman, leaves me little to add. However, his minutes of the well-attended class meeting conducted by Don Stilltnan have several items of interest:

1. Art Hills's treasurer's report noted a yearend balance Of 512,500. Art and Bill Hotaling, after reviewing a list of projects desired by the College, recommended $7,500 be donated for a new scoreboard for Red Rolfe Field, where baseball and field hockey are played. The class approved this project with the proviso that the "Class of '41' lettering be readily legible on the scoreboard.

2. Bob Flouton, as scholarship chairman, announced that the scholarship fund was now in excess of $63,000. To replace our departing class scholar, the name of David Rinehart '95 of Barre, Vt., was proposed and accepted by the class. David had an A average in his science-heavy freshman courses. He is heading for a physics or electrical engineering major and has already worked as a research assistant at Thayer School.

3. Head Agent John White reported that the class had achieved 96 percent of its assigned goal in the recent fund drive with 69-percent participation, better than the College average.

Ed Stone writes that he and Lois were at the Yale game and saw Ray Seabury and many other mini attendees there. Stoney chose to take in the 150th-anniversary festivities of TriKap fraternity that weekend.

Another after-action report on the mini, this from a former federal agent (Code Name Brodie B) reveals "just the facts": DanProvost's new partner, Carol, is a lovely lady, and between them they boast 20 grandchildren. Chet Stothart's Dot is a remarkable woman, confined to a wheelchair after a 1982 fall, but still enjoying the football game from the sidelines. And Brodie's own Fran is a gallant gal, back on her feet with some difficulty after rupturing a disc in May.

A note in October from a son of Arnie andJessica Bartlett advises that they were recently admitted to Villa Maria Convalescent Home, 20 Babcock Ave, Plainfield, CT 06374. As parents of ten children and grandparents of 27, Arnie and Jessica should be getting some mail, but they'd be delighted to hear from classmates too.

Downey Gray has offered to act as a clearing house for "classmates interested in communicating via computer systems such as Prodigy, Compu-Serve, America-on-Line, etc." Although I'm chained to a stone-age typewriter, I think he has a great idea, and so does GEHerman (George's moniker on AOL). So, all you space-age computer guys contact Downey at 443 Swing Lane, Louisville, KY 40207, (502) 897-5264, and give him your electronic nom de plume. Perhaps the class can publish a list of e-mailers soon.
