Here's the remaining scoop on San Francisco Bay Area '45s, gathered by Ted McCrum, Nick Nichols, and Art Pounds: Jim Knowles has retired from Lloyds Bank and is living in Alameda. He keeps active as a director of a small bank and serves as an arbitrator for the National Association of Securities Dealers a place to go if you have a beef with your broker. He's playing lots of golf "with much enthusiasm, but little skill." Of his four kids, three are in California, one in Charleston. His two grandsons (12 and 10) in Napa keep him hopping.

Marge Cray is still living in Los Altos and is caring for her grandson while her daughter practices law in San Francisco. Her son Richard '78 is also a lawyer in the Bay area. Marge took the Dartmouth trip to Russia and enjoyed meeting a cross-section of alumni. She keeps in touch with the Cains: Craig was Cain's roommate at Dartmouth, while Jocelyn was Marge's roommate at Wellesley.

Jim Field recently had a hip joint replaced but has achieved his goal of getting back on the tennis courts as soon as possible. He's playing more singles than doubles now and feels like he's 20 again! Jim still spends 50 percent of his time on his jug-wine business but has cut down on the personal deliveries he used to make all over the West (with his fishing gear in the back of his suburban). He's just finishing up a major improvement project on his Orinda home, from furniture made in his basement workshop to a complete new plumbing system. Jim and Gina's two daughters live in California, one teaching private school in Danville and one in the L.A. area.

Hod Walton is retired and lives in Palo Alto. Since his wife, Marian, died several years ago he's kept busy traveling east to visit his family. He plays some golf but isn't boasting, and he plans to do some foreign traveling in the near future.

Ted Wilson is still working fulltime at San Francisco's Pacific Medical Center in orthopaedic surgery. Ted is not happy with news from the College

Bill Adam decided to give up golf in 1951 and go to work thought this beat becoming a country club drunk! Right now he's working out of his home in Moraga as an appraiser in the mortgage business. He's choosy and only works with people he likes. Bill is turned off about the present situation in Hanover, but has fond memories of our days there and also thinks Vic Smith should take a bow for his tireless devotion to our class.

Bud Elder lives in Tiburon, but he made it back to the mini-reunion in October. For the past several years Bud has participated in the "Big Ride," where about 150 people ride horseback in the Colorado Rockies. This year he ran into classmate Cy Allen on the ride.

That's it from this '45 contingent the pen once again hangs from the stately antlers of Charles Aubrey R. "Founder"
