Cube Conroy again hosted a superlative Fun Fantastic in New York on the last weekend in January. Festivities began with a class meeting on Friday afternoon with Prez Malm barely holding class enthusiasts in check. Friday night saw a sumptuous repast in the dining hall (memories of Thayer, but with plates), topped by a thoroughly enjoyable and enlightening discourse on the classics by Professor Ed Bradley. (Keare did his best to stir up controversy, but the Prof not only rose to the bait, he stole it.) About 20 classmates continued the weekend with a gathering at the Supper Club on Saturday night, jovially carousing to the strains of a band that sounded as much like the Barbary Coast as we cared to remember. To top off the weekend, Hal and Joan Gordon hosted a no-limit Sunday brunch which featured an entertaining tape of Reunion activities. Classmates showing up for at least one of the functions were Malin, Cube, Gordon, Keare, Faulkner, Haper, Whitney, Oakes,Hatchetman, McKenna, Len Clark, BillWebb, Worrell, Taylor, Weinstein,Schumaker, Pugh, Rosenwald, Art Katz,Kirby Fowler, BusterBud Allen, AlFriedman, Mike Grunebaum, Ted Rowe,Glen French (all the way from California), and Zissu. (If I left someone out, please call and I'll correct in a later column). It was a good time, and I encourage lots more classmates to make the effort next year for a chance to see old friends in New York.
